‘Innocent’, writer Osvaldo Reynoso’s popular stories about collars, has been adapted for the theater in a play that will be released on 15 September. 12 features that will end on October 8 are presented Cultural Center of the University of Lima (CCUL), co-produced with Teatro Pending.
This theatrical adaptation is directed by Sammy Zamalloa and features a cast of Diego Pérez, Sergio Armasgo, Miguel Davalos, Rony Ramirez, Rony Cuso, Emmanuel Caffo and Ramon Garcia.
According to a CCUL press release, this theatrical production is designed to encourage viewers to reflect on their education and training during childhood and adolescence; in addition to adult patterns and patterns that people follow.
It is important to note that “Innocentparticipated in the International Theater Festival Zicosur “Pedro de la Barra” (XXI FITZA) in Antofagasta, Chile; at the 2019 Sala de Parto festival in Lima, Peru; and at the XXI International Open Street Theater Festival (Fiteca) 2022 in Comas, Lima, Peru.

“The Innocents”, a story about the book
Adaptation’Innocent’ tells the story of five unconditional friends who suffered from various disabilities as teenagers, wandering the streets, playing billiards and bars in the Lima area. His doubts about the game, women, grief and life will be resolved if Choro Plantado, a drunk and angry man on the block, becomes a model and guide.
Published in 1961, the collection of short stories was a narrative debut Osvaldo Reynoso, who in 1955 already published a collection of poems “Luzbel”. The book was presented in a Palermo bar in Lima city center and was later republished under the title “Lima en rock”, although it later retained the original title in subsequent editions.
In the year of launch, the accountant made Osvaldo Reynoso accused him of being involved in pornography, given the erotic content of some of the stories. However, key figures in Peruvian literature have praised the author’s innovative voice.
So it was for Jose Maria Arguedaswho wrote a laudatory article that warned that the Arequipa-based writer was “a storyteller for the new world”.
