Shawn Mendes cancels tour to focus on his mental health

Shawn Mendes announced on Wednesday that he was canceling his world tour to focus on his mental health. The decision comes after he has postponed several US shows in recent weeks.

“I started this tour excited to play live again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic, but the reality is that I was not at all prepared for how difficult it would be to tour after all this time,” the Canadian singer explained. The statement was published on their social networks.

Mendez explained that after speaking with his team and medical staff, “it became clear that he needed some time” to “settle in and come back stronger.”

“We were hoping that after a while he would be able to continue the rest of the tour, but right now I have to put my health first,” he elaborated.

Nonetheless, Shawn Mendes He assured that he will continue to record new music and intends to play concerts again in the future.

“I know that everyone has been looking forward to these shows for a long time and it breaks my heart, but I promise that I will be back as soon as I qualify for healing,” he said.
