Ukrainian director Alexander Muratov died

In the 89th year of his life, the famous Ukrainian film director, screenwriter and publicist, poet, Alexander Muratov died. On Monday, April 14, the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine and the Dovzhenko Center reported.

Born on April 21, 1935 in Kharkov. Among his works are the movies Can you live, our loyal breadAs well as adaptation to the film of Nikolai Khviloy’s works: Tango death, down with shame! And Waldshnop.

The National Union of Cinematographers noted that Alexander Muratov has left a significant heritage of creative – features and documentaries, scenarios, literature text, as well as warm memories of colleagues and friends.

“Life has lived with dignity and fruitful,” the organization added.

In 2024, the director gave the Dovzhenko Center part of his materials, which refined the film archive fund, the Museum of the Cinema and the Film Fund. Moving materials include photos, movies, posters, scripts, books, sheets and mounting sheets.

Remember, the legendary director of American film, musician, actor and actor David Lynch died at the age of 78.

Former head of the Cultural Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, general director of the Museum of History of the City of Kyiv Diana Popova, died.
