K-Drama will win new season nine years after the first

Good news for lovers of a k-dramas police classic. TVN released on Wednesday, 5, that after nine years of its debut, ‘Signal’, will win a new season now for the title of “The Second Signal” (the second sign).

It was also informed by the South Korean broadcaster the return of the three protagonists of the series, KIM HYE-SOOwhich gives life to Detective Cha Soo-Hyun, CH JIN-WOONG veteran Lee Jae-Han and interpreter Lee Je-Hoonwhich takes up the role of psychologist Park Hae-Young. The sequence remains scripted by Kim Eun-Heewhile the direction gains the talent of Ahn tae-jindirector of the 2022 phenomenon film, “The Night Owl”.

The new plot promises to follow the mysteries around the disappearance of Jae-Han, the group’s veteran police officer. Also according to the official statement, the new production revealed that the story will be “even more immersive and engaging than the original, to reward fans who have shown so much love for the years.”

With a release scheduled for 2026, new details on “The Second Signal” will be released by TVN soon, meanwhile, the first season of K-Drama is available in the Netflix catalog.

Launched in 2016, Signal quickly consolidated itself as one of South Korea’s most praised police thrillers, combining suspense and a unique approach to unresolved crimes. Inspired by real cases, such as Hwaseong’s serial murders, K-Drama caught the public’s attention by exploring the failures of the South Korean police system.

The story follows Park Hae-Yeong (Lee Je-Hoon), a police psychologist who, in childhood, witnessed the kidnapping of a schoolmate, who remained unresolved. Fifteen years later, his distrust in the police persists until he finds a walkie-trolkie that connects him to Lee Jae-han (CH JIN-WOONG), a detective of the past.
