5 things you need to know about ‘Snow White’ live-action

Find out everything you need to know before watching Disney’s newest live action: ‘Snow White’, remake of the 1937 animation

Walt Disney Studios began sharing plans for a “Snow White White and The Seven” remake-action, an animation released in 1937 that adapts the fairy tale of Grimm Brothersfrom October 2016, promoting small tips on the film during the last few years until the public had access to information such as cast, team, history and full release date.

As a result, there is much to find out about the production entitled “Snow White” before the debut in world theaters, which is scheduled to happen later this year. With that in mind, the playground has gathered 5 things you need to know about the feature film; Check it out:

1. Who is behind?

To get the script Erin Cressida Wilson (The girl on the train) of the paper, Marc Webb (The Spectacular Spider-Man) was cast as a director. The production is due to the Oscar nominated Marc Platt (La La Land) and Russell Allen (The Little Mermaid), besides bringing also Callum McDougall (The return of Mary Poppins) as an executive producer.

The soundtrack is signed by Oscar -winning composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Aladdin), who in addition to classic songs such as “Someday My Prince Will Come” (one day my prince will come) and “Heigh Ho” (translated in Brazil to “I Vou”), will bring original tracks to the plot.

2. Who is in the cast?

In the cast, Rachel Zeglerfrom “Love, Sublime Love” and “Hunger Games – The Song of Birds and Serpents” was chosen to bring the protagonist to life, while the great villain of the story will be interpreted by Gal Gadotwhich reached world fame by winning the role of Wonder Woman in the films of the former Cinematographic Universe of DC.

Beyond the two, Andrew Burnap (The Front Room) will be the male protagonist, as he was cast to interpret the princess’s romantic pair: Jonathan, a figure whose behavior is similar to that of Robin Hood. They are also in the cast, Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean), and names not as well known as those of Gabriela Garcia and Joshmaine Jospeh.

3. What is the story?

As in the animated title, in the new movie, Snow White flees from his kingdom after his stepmother, the bad queen, feel threatened by her beauty. However, there are some differences between the production that emerged over eighty years ago, as the classic was modernized.

This is because the beauty referred to in the movie will not be about appearance, but about the inner beauty. Furthermore, Racher Zegler It revealed on 2023 D23 that Snow White will be a more empowered princess and will find her own voice, as in the new version there is no enchanted prince.

4. When was it filmed?

Live-action filming was initially scheduled to take place in Vancouver, Canada City in March 2020, but due to the covid-19 pandemic the plans were postponed and in August 2021 it was revealed that the recordings would take place from March to July 2022, but elsewhere: in the United Kingdom.

5. When to debut?

“Snow White” is scheduled to premiere on March 20, 2025 directly in theaters.
