Moldova officially refused to participate in the international song contest Eurovision 2025, explaining the decision by the decrease of interest in the national selection.
This year Moldova will not participate in the international Eurovision Song Contest. This was officially announced by the organizers of the national selection.
According to the director of Moldova 1 TV channel, Corneliu Durnescu, such a decision is difficult, but necessary. He explained that the 2025 national selection is facing several problems: the decline of public interest, the overall quality of the songs and performances submitted.
“This decision is difficult, but necessary in the current conditions the national selection this year has revealed several problems, including a decrease in the interest of the audience,” said Durnescu.
The current fee for participation in Eurovision is 21,486 euros. TRM decided to use these funds for other media projects.
We remind you that on January 18, the stage of live auditions ended in Chisinau, as a result of which 12 performers reached the finals. However, the last stage of selection has been cancelled.
It was previously reported that GRISANA, who did not make it to the final ten of the Ukrainian national selection, submitted an application to participate in the song competition from San Marino.
