Last Tuesday, the 7th, the first trailer for “Newtopia”, a new k-drama starring Jisoomember of BLACKPINK, alongside the actor Park Jeongminpresenting a little of the dynamics between the protagonists. Check it out!
The drama has been highly anticipated not only by BLACKPINK and K-dramas fans, but also by specialized critics, as its script is written by Ji Hojin (A Shop for Killers) next to Han Jinwonscreenwriter responsible for the Oscar-winning film, “Parasite” (2019).
Inspired by the novel written by the South Korean author Han Sangwoon“Influenza”, in “Newtopia” the audience will follow the story of soldier Lee Jae-Yoon (Park Jeongmin) and Kang Young-Joo (Kim Jisoo), a couple who, after a fight, decide to spend some time apart. However, everything changes when an unknown virus hits Seoul, turning everyone into zombies, causing the two to try to reunite to stay alive.
The big problem is that the couple are in completely different locations. While Jae-Yoon is at her military base, which is being dominated by zombies, Young-Joo finds herself on the streets of Gangnam, where she has to face the threat of the living dead who try to get close to her.
In addition to Jisoo and Jeongmin as protagonists, the cast of “Newtopia” will also feature other great actors, including Kim Joon Han, Im Sung Jae, Kim Chang Hyung and Lee Hak Joo.
But, when does “Newtopia” premiere?
The series is scheduled to premiere on February 7th.with weekly episodes released until March 21st, according to information shared by Variety. In Brazil and 240 other regions, the production can be found on the Prime Video streaming platform. In South Korea, “Newtopia” will be available through Coupang Play.
