After the announcement that Wendy, from Red Velvet, will not participate in SMTOWN 2025 in Seoul, the artist spoke to her fans. Check it out!
This Monday, the 6th, SM Entertainment announced that Wendya member of Red Velvet, will not participate in the SMTOWN shows in Seoul, in celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary, scheduled to take place on January 11th and 12th.
Through the ticket sales platform Melon Ticket (via Soompi), the agency informed that the artist “will not appear at SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in Seoul for personal reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this lineup change. Ticket cancellations and refunds due to this change can be processed without cancellation fees through our customer service center.”
Moments after the announcement was released, Wendy spoke to his fans through the Bubble platform (via Koreaboo), apologizing for the inconvenience, in addition to reassuring the Reveluvs (Red Velvet fandom) stating that he is not sick, and that he would really like to participate in the presentation, but that, unfortunately, will not be possible.
“You may or may not have seen the ad… I actually discussed this with the company over a month ago, but the notice was only posted today…
I’m sure there were many ReVeluvs who were excited to see Red Velvet perform as a full group of five, and I’m truly sorry about that. As it is the 30th anniversary, there are a variety of stages being prepared. I hope you have a lot of fun. Thank you, as always, and I’m sorry.
I’m not sick and I’m healthy.
My goal for 2025 is to stay healthy, happy, and perform on stages I love as much as possible. I really, really want to sing.”
It is worth remembering that, in addition to Wendyanother big SM Entertainment artist as well canceled his participation in SMTOWN 2025: Taeyeonleader of Girls’ Generation. Before confirming her absence through the company, in early December, the artist herself revealed to fans in a live broadcast that she should not participate in the show, as “there is no good conversation between the company and me”.
