What can we expect from K-pop in 2025?

Check out some of the incredible moments already confirmed that K-pop fans will be able to see in the coming months of the new year that begins

In the k-pop universe, the year 2024 was full of events that surprised and moved fans of South Korean pop music. In addition to being presented with comebacks and debuts that dominated our playlists, the year that ended also provided us with moments such as the 2NE1 and BIGBANG reunions, dismissals from the army of many idols, among others.

Now, many fans are also eager to see what could happen in K-pop in 2025 — and RECREIO will show you some moments that are already confirmed. Check it out!

1. BTS Military Discharge

In 2024, Jin and J-Hope began BTS’s military discharge era. Now, the remaining five members, RM, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkookare scheduled to be released from mandatory military service in June.

According to the South Korean press, after all seven members finish their duties in the South Korean army, BTS is expected to make a new comeback with a full album, in addition to starting a new world tour in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the series. “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life” albums. So far, BigHit Music, the company responsible for the boy group, has not yet confirmed the information.


2. BLACKPINK Comeback and World Tour

After focusing on their solo careers this past year, BLACKPINK will be back as a full group in 2025. According to an announcement made by YG Entertainment, the company responsible for managing the activities of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa as a quartet, the group will make a new comeback this year, followed by the start of a new world tour.

According to South Korean media reports, the girl group’s new album is expected to be released in May, while the world tour will begin soon after, passing through countries in Asia, North America and Europe. For now, YG has not yet confirmed any of the information.


3. GFRIEND 10th Anniversary Reunion

About four years after the end of their contracts with Source Music, GFRIEND will return as a full group to celebrate their 10-year debut anniversary.

As part of the celebration, the girl group will release a pre-release track on January 6th, and will unveil the special full album, “Season of Memories”, on January 13th at 6am (Brasília time). Furthermore, Sowon, Yuju, Yerin, Eunha, SinB and Umji will also hold a celebration tour, titled “GFRIEND 10th Anniversary ”, starting in Seoul on January 18th, and with scheduled visits to Osaka (March 9th), Yokohama (March 11th), Hong Kong (March 14th) and Taipei (March 29th).


4. GOT7 comeback

Another group that will also make their long-awaited comeback in 2025 is GOT7! After three years since their last release, “NANANA”, the septet will return with a new album on January 20th.

The return will mark the group’s first release since Jay B and Jinyoung were exempted from mandatory military service. Second Jinyoungthis should also be the last promotional activity of the set before Youngjae and Yugyeom also enlist in the army.


5. SEVENTEEN military enlistment

In 2025, SEVENTEEN will celebrate its 10th anniversary of debut, however, it will also have some absences in its formation due to mandatory military enlistment. This is because it is expected that, this year, Hoshi, Woonwo and Woozimembers born in 1996, present themselves to the Armed Forces due to their age.

According to the South Korean portal Asiae, some members are scheduled to enlist in the army in the first half of 2025. So far, no information about the enlistment date of the next SEVENTEEN members has been released by PLEDIS Entertainment, the company responsible by the group. It is worth remembering that, currently, the group already has one member in military service: Jeonghanwho is serving as a civil servant.
