Franchise sequel with Robert Pattinson is postponed

The sequel to ‘The Batman’, the acclaimed 2022 film directed by Matt Reevesyou will experience a delay. Filming for ‘Batman 2’ will only begin in the second half of 2025 and, therefore, Warner Bros. decided to postpone the film’s release by a year.

Initially scheduled to premiere on October 2, 2026, the film will now hit theaters on October 1, 2027. The change, although expected, generates even more anxiety among fans who await the continuation of the revolutionary work of Reeves.

In addition to the postponement of ‘Batman 2’, Warner Bros. I had already planned a DC title for the weekend of October 2027. With ‘The Batman’ sequel now coming out of that date, the untitled film from Alejandro González Iñárritustarring Tom Cruisewill occupy this space, with an Imax release.

Meanwhile, the studio is also preparing other releases for the coming years, such as the highly anticipated ‘Mickey 17’, starring Robert Pattinsonand the film ‘Sinners’, directed by Ryan Cooglerwhich will arrive with adjusted dates. Warner continues to move its release calendar, always with major productions to keep fans attentive for the coming years.

The latest ‘Batman’, released in 2022, brought Robert Pattinson as a young Bruce Wayne, in his early years as the Dark Knight. The direction of Matt Reeves bet on a more introspective and investigative Batman, focusing on Bruce’s detective side. The film was a critical and box office success, grossing US$772 million worldwide. With a star-studded cast, such as Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Colin Farrell (Penguin), Paul Dano (Riddle) and Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), the film won over audiences with its dark atmosphere and complex characters.
