The legendary cat and mouse duo will be revived in a new full-length animated film from Warner Bros Pictures Animation.
The beloved duo of millions of viewers, Tom and Jerry, will return to the big screen, Deadline reports.
Warner Bros Pictures Animation studio has officially announced the creation of a new full-length cartoon. The script was written by Rashida Jones, known for her work in film and television, as well as Oscar-winning writers Michael Govier and Will McCormack.
This version of the iconic cartoon starts from scratch, promising a modern take on the cat and mouse adventures that first appeared on screens in 1940 thanks to MGM. Unfortunately, the plot is kept under wraps, as is the release date, but it is known that the new cartoon will honor the original series.
Original cartoon Tom and Jerry published on February 10, 1940. Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the characters quickly became an animation icon. The series of short films received great success, including seven awards Oscar in the nomination Best Animated Short Film.
