Final Destination: Blood Ties, which will be the sixth installment in the popular horror franchise, has received an official release date. The film will hit theaters on May 16, 2025, Variety reports.
This date was originally reserved for another Warner Bros. project. – Flowervale Street by JJ Abrams. However, its premiere has been postponed to March 13, 2026.
The sixth episode will be released during a busy period – just two weeks after the Marvel action movie Thunderbolts (May 2) and a week before the premiere of the new Mission: Impossible: Final Reckoning and Lilo & Stitch (May 23).
Blood Ties is directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. The script was written by Laurie Evans Taylor and Guy Busick. Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but in 2022, franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick says fans can expect “more advanced” horror.
The Final Destination franchise started in 2000, quickly winning the love of the audience due to its unique concept – the inevitable death as the main antagonist. Over the years, the series has grossed more than $660 million at the box office and has become a cult favorite among horror fans.
It was previously reported that Netflix announced the completion of filming on the second season of the popular series on Wednesday and shared the first official shot of the main character.
