Where to watch the recommended animations?

This Monday, the 9th, the Golden Globe nominees were revealed! The 82nd edition of the awards will honor the main cinema and television works released throughout 2024, and for this, it has several categories, among them, Best Animation, where 6 titles must compete for the only golden statuette: “Wild Robot” , “Inside Out 2”, “Flow”, “Memoirs of a Snail”, “Moana 2” and “Wallace & Gromit: Revenge”.

The ceremony that will decide who will be the winner of the category is scheduled to take place on January 5th, until then, there is time to marathon all the animated plots competing for Best Animation — but, where to watch them? RECREIO has gathered all the information below; check it out:

Wild Robot

An adaptation of the book of the same name byPeter Brown“Wild Robot” is directed by Chris Sanders to accompany a ROZZUM robot from unit 7134 that, after a shipwreck, ends up on an island inhabited only by animals — which see it as an enemy being, sometimes trying to eliminate it —. In the hostile territory, ROZ, as she will be called, ends up learning to create relationships and understand the animals that live there, even becoming the maternal figure of an orphan goose who will learn from her and a fox called Astuto how to live.

Inside Out 2

Sequel to the film released in 2016 under the Disney and Pixar label, “Inside Out 2” follows Riley after celebrating her 13th birthday. This is because, after blowing out the candles, the girl will go through several changes, such as accepting her best friends going to a new school, trying to make new friends and join the hockey team and worse: dealing with the arrival of puberty and four new emotions: Anxiety, Fear, Envy and Boredom, which trying to help her deal with all this news, will bring more chaos to the control room.

Flow

One of the favorites for the award, “Flow” is set in a utopian world where humans no longer inhabit the Earth and animals fight for survival, as the planet has been flooded with water. In the plot, a black cat ends up seeking refuge on a boat with a group of other animals, where they will have to learn to live together in order to survive.

It is worth mentioning that European animation directed by Gints Zilbalodis It has no dialogue and has already won four awards at the most prestigious animation festival in the world, Annecy, as well as nominations for other major awards such as the European Film Awards and the Seville European Film Festival.

Where to watch: The production has not yet debuted in Brazil, but should arrive in the country in 2025.

Memoirs of a Snail

Written, produced and directed by Adam Elliot“Memoirs of a Snail” comes from Australia and won the best film award at the Annecy Festival! The story, told using the Claymation technique, an aspect of Stop Motion that works with modeling clay characters, has the following synopsis:

“Grace Pudel is a lonely girl who collects ornamental snails and has a huge love for books. At a very young age, Grace was separated from her twin brother, the pyrophagist Gilbert, and from then on, she entered a continuous spiral of anxiety and anguish. Moana 2

From Disney, “Moana 2” follows the events of the first film, released in 2016. In the plot, the navigator princess will embark on a new mission across the ocean, which begins after she receives a call from her ancestors. To do this, she will have the support of Maui and a new crew, facing and allying herself with new deities in order to unite the Polynesian peoples.

Where to watch: Premiering on November 28, 2024 in Brazil, the film, which has Dana Ledoux Miller, Jason Hand and David Derrick Jr. as directors, continues to be shown in national cinemas.

Wallace & Gromit: Revenge
