What are the songs in the film?

Scheduled to hit theaters later this month, ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ already has the soundtrack titles revealed; see what the songs are!

Sequel to “The Lion King”, live-action released in 2019, “Mufasa: The Lion King” will have, like the first, great songs! While the feature film released five years ago brought songs like “Ciclo Sem Fim” and “Hakuna Matata”, featured in the 1994 animation, and original tracks like “Spirit” which features the voice of Beyoncethe new production promises to present seven new tracks, performed by different artists, which should arrive on streaming platforms later this month.

What are the songs in the film?

For this, the soundtrack featured Lin-Manuel Mirandaresponsible for the songs for films such as “Moana: Um Mar de Aventuras” (2016 and “Encanto” (2021) and winner of major music, theater and TV awards such as the Grammy, Tony and Emmy, for the composition and production of the album — work that he does with Mark Mancinaalso a Grammy winner, Lebo Mwho was also in “The Lion King” (1994) and Tom MacDougallpresident of Walt Disney Music.

The songs from “Mufasa: The Lion King” are:

The tracks will be released in two versions, one with the original songs, and the other with instrumental songs by Dave Metzger, which will be available on the Deluxe version of the album. The album will be released on December 13, 2024.

It is worth remembering that Disney released last Monday, 02, a video where Lin-Manuel Miranda and the production director, Barry Jenkinsreflect on the film’s soundtrack, where Miranda reveals that he took a large part of the song ideas directly from the film’s script, which was written by Jeff Nathansonwho also signed the first live-action.

“It’s very rare when you read a script and think ‘this song goes here’,” he said. Miranda before revealing that “I Always Wanted A Brother” came from a line of dialogue in the film. The track, however, initially had another name: “Brother Trouble”, as remembered by Jenkinswho stated that the title was defined by Miranda.

Furthermore, “Milele” was chosen by Lin as the most difficult song to write, proving to be “scary” to convey the feelings that Disney usually does so well in a song.

“The Lion King has an incredible musical history, created by some of the greatest composers of all time, and it’s an honor to be a part of it. It was wonderful working with Barry Jenkins to bring Mufasa’s story to life, and we can’t wait for audiences to see the film in theaters,” concluded Miranda.

“Mufasa: The Lion King” is a prequel that follows the past of Mufasa, Simba’s father, showing his rise to the title of King of the Jungle, and the construction of his relationship with his brother, Scar.

In the cast, Aaron Pierre (Time) will give voice to Mufasa, Kevin Harrison Jr. (The Chicago 7) will be responsible for Taka, a character better known as Scar, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter will reprise the role of Nala, while her daughter, Blue Ivy Carterwill be Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala.

The film opens on December 19, 2024 in Brazilian cinemas.
