Between animations and live-action series; remember a list of theme songs that marked the programs shown on Disney Channel
It’s the end of Disney Channel in Brazil! The broadcaster will no longer be part of the national catalog of paid TV channels from February 28, 2025, due to low ratings, joining Star Channel, Cinecanal, FX, National Geographic, Disney Channel and Baby TV, also belonging to The Walt Disney Company, which are also leaving Brazilian programming.
It is worth remembering, however, that the Disney Channel was part of Brazilians’ daily entertainment for around 20 years, presenting different titles in different formats, as films, series and animations were on the channel’s viewing schedule — which are remembered to this day, even though many of them have not been aired for a long time.
One of the reasons that make the productions so striking are, of course, the theme songs, as they convey the central idea of the titles with melodies that stick in the mind, helping to never forget what is seen on the screen. With that in mind, RECREIO put together a list of the 5 best Disney Channel songs; check it out:
1. The Best of Both Worlds — Hannah Montana
Receiving the voice of Miley Cyrusactress and singer who also plays the protagonist Hannah Montana/Miley Stewart, the track “The Best of Both Worlds” summarizes the premise of the series, where the main character enjoys the advantages of being a stranger in everyday life and a pop artist from success on stage.
Check out the translation of an excerpt of the song:
Do you go to movie premieres?
(Is that Orlando Bloom?)
Listen to your own music on the radio
Living two lives can be strange
But at school it’s cool because no one knows
Yes, you act like a country girl
But an escape is when you play your guitar
You have the best of both worlds
Relax, take it easy
Then rock the show
2. That’s So Raven — That’s So Raven
In “That’s So Raven”, the protagonist has the gift of seeing the future! The ability, however, gets her into a lot of confusion, since Raven doesn’t have the context of the vision and, trying to interpret what she saw, ends up complicating what, in most cases, would be easy to resolve.
The idea also appears in the theme song that bears the title of the series, which is performed by the character’s interpreter. Raven-Symonébut which in Brazil gained a translated version sung by Cidália Castro and Flavia Santanafrom the group As Sublimes.
(Come on)
If you want to see the future (future, future)
Do you think this will be better (it will be better)
Only nothing is that safe (yeah, go, Rae)
It could be even worse (yes, worse)
I try to see what happens
But I end up complicating things
3. Call, Call, I’m Your Friend — Kim Possible
Interpreted by Christina Milian in the original version, “Call Me, Beep Me!”, from “Kim Possible”, also gained a translated version, “Chama, Liga, Que Eu Sou Tua Amiga” which features the voice of the actress, singer and voice actress from Rio Kacau Gomes.
It’s worth remembering that in the animation, Kim Possible appears to be a normal teenager, but when danger calls, she becomes a true hero to save the world.
There is nothing to fear.
If danger arises
I will always help you.
(I will always help you.)
It doesn’t matter where or when
If there’s a problem, just call me:
Kim PossibleCall, call, I’m your friend.
When you need it, just say so.
I’m always available.
Call, call, I’m your friend.
4. Today Is Gonna Be a Great Day — Phineas and Ferb
“Today Is Gonna Be a Great Day” is performed by the rock band Bowling for Soup to open the vacation adventures of Phineas and Ferb, who are always in the sights of their sister, Candace, who does everything to expose them to their parents.
In Brazil, the song was also translated, revealing some of the duo’s plans for three months away from school, such as going to space, fighting a mummy, climbing the entire Eiffel Tower, surfing a tidal wave, creating mini robots or simply driving Candace crazy; listen!
5.Not Everything Is What It Seems — Wizards of Waverly Place
With the voice of Selena Gomez In the original version of “Everything Is Not What It Seems”, the opening of “Wizards of Waverly Place” also summarizes the central message that the series wants to convey: that of that there is more to the world than people notice.
Not everything is what it seems to be
When you have everything you could want
Go slowly, exaggerations can compromise
Because not everything is what it seems to be
