Everything we already know about GFRIEND’s expected return

THEY ARE OFFICIALLY COMING BACK! In September this year, South Korean portal JoyNews24 published a report stating that GFRIEND would reunite in January 2025 to carry out a special project, in celebration of their 10th debut anniversary.

After publication, on the same day, Source Music, the company responsible for forming the girl group, issued a note confirming the meeting:

“In January next year, GFRIEND plans to greet fans with a project to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary. The members’ desires to gift a precious memory to the BUDDYs (GFRIEND’s official fan club) came together to successfully carry out this project. Please show a lot of expectation and support.”, the agency wrote in a statement.

Now, last weekend, the first information was revealed about the long-awaited return of the group formed by Sowon, Yuju, Yerin, Eunha, SinB and Umji. Check out everything we already know!

Comeback

GFRIEND’s special 10th anniversary project will be marked by a new comeback for the group, the first in almost five years, as the girl group’s last release took place before the sextet ended their contracts with Source Music, being released in November 2020 with the album “回:Walpurgis Night”, accompanied by the title track “MAGO”.

As reported by Soompi, on January 6th, the group will release a pre-release track, which has not yet had its title revealed, and which will be responsible for anticipating the arrival of the special album “Season of Memories”, scheduled to be available on January 13th. January, at 6am (Brasília time).

In addition to the long-awaited comeback, GFRIEND will also return to the stage for a special show dedicated to the BUDDYs! According to the statement issued by Source Music through the Weverse platform, the presentation will be called “GFRIEND 10th Anniversary ”, and will be held over two days: January 18 and 19, 2025, at the Olympic Hall, in Seoul, capital of South Korea. So far, there is no information about possible new dates.

New details about the comeback and the show are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
