Let us remind you that last week Mikhail Drapaty was appointed as the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Oleg Apostol, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, was appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Brigadier General Mikhail Drapaty has been the commander of the operational-tactical group “Kharkov” since May of this year and led the repulsion of the Russian offensive in the Kharkov region.
Until January 2024, Drapaty operational group “Kherson” was one of the leaders of the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region in 2022. He is the former commander of the 2nd mechanized battalion of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade, which was dismissed from Mariupol in May 2014.
In February 2024, he was appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff for Military Training.
Colonel Oleg Apostol – commander of the 95th separate air assault brigade of Polesie. At war since 2014. Since 2024 – Hero of Ukraine. He fought in battles for Slavyansk and Lugansk airport, led battles in Serebryansky and Kupyansky forestry. Since August 2024, it has been participating in the operation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region.
