Who’s who in izna?

Formed by the survival program “I-LAND 2” on South Korean broadcaster Mnet, izna, a group managed by WAKEONE Entertainment, debuted this Monday, 25th, through the release of the album “N/a”, which is composed of the songs “TIMEBOMB”, “IWALY” (izna Ver.), “DRIP”, “FAKE IT” and the title track “IZNA”, which even won an MV; watch:

The second season of the “I-LAND” reality show franchise emerged as a collaboration with producerTeddy and the agency he founded, THEBLACKLABEL, which named seven girls as winners on July 4, 2024, giving them the chance to debut in izna, a group whose name means “anytime, anywhere, anything”.

It is worth remembering that, among the group members, five were chosen by popular vote, and two by jury choices; RECREIO presents them all below:

Choi Jungeun

Born on August 4, 2007 in Incheon, South Korea, Choi Jungeun was chosen through voting by I-MATEs (“I-LAND 2” fandom), becoming the group’s fourth revealed member, in addition to winning first place in the competition with 823,393 votes.

Curiosities: In addition to “I-LAND 2”, Choi Jungeun participated in another survival program in 2020: “CAP-TEEN!”, from which she was eliminated in the first episode. Another interesting fact about the idol is that she has an older sisterChoi Yoonjungwho competed on My Teenage Girl and was a YG Entertainment trainee.

Bang Jeemin

The artist who was born on May 8, 2005 in the South Korean city, Busan, Bang Jeeminwas also chosen through popular voting, and took 2nd place in the “I-LAND 2” final, with 591,495 votes. She was the third of the izna to be revealed.

Curiosities: Bang Jeemin She was a child actress and appears in the K-drama “Remember”, on SBS, where she plays the younger sister of Park Minyoung. Furthermore, she was a Source Music trainee for a certain period and also competed to debut in ILLIT, as she participated in the survival program RU Next, on JTBC.

Yoon Jiyoon

The 19 year old Korean, Yoon Jiyoonher birthday is July 14th, and she is the oldest member of the izna. She was the second member to be revealed and became a member of the group by taking 3rd place in the final with 471,699 votes.

Fun Facts: Yoon Jiyoon is a former THEBLACKLABEL trainee and the idol’s favorite color is black.

Koko

First Japanese member of the group, Narai Koko was born on November 14, 2006 in Osaka. She, who was elected the No. 1 dancer at I-LAND 2, became the first member to be revealed from izna, in addition to taking 4th place in the final with 320,124 votes.

Curiosities: Still in Japan, Koko He was a trainee at the Japanese agency AVEX Entertainment. She moved to South Korea when she was in high school.

Ryu Sarang

On April 18, 2007, he was born Ryu Sarangan idol who became the 5th member to be revealed in the group by taking 5th place in the final with 319,693 votes.

Curiosity: She is a former child dancer for HOT

Also Japanese, Tomioka Mai is about two years older than her countrywoman Kokoas she was born on October 28, 2004. She was chosen as Visual No. 1 on “I-LAND 2”, and became a member of the group when chosen by the producers, being the sixth member revealed.

Curiosities: Maiwhose skills also involve knitting and cooking, participated in the audition held by LDH “iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~” between 2021 and 2023, which formed MOONCHILD.

Jeong Saebi

The maknae (youngest member) of the group, Jeong Saebi16 years old, celebrates another year of life on January 22, 2008. She was also chosen by the producers and was the last member revealed, taking 6th place in the final with 294,721 votes.

Fun Facts: Jeong Saebi speaks English fluently. She studied for three months in New Zealand, as well as being in an English kindergarten.
