After months in the dark, JY Park, during the MAMA Awards 2024 media day, finally updated VCHA fans about the return of the girl group’s activities
During a media day for the MAMA Awards 2024, which took place last Thursday, 21st, JY Park updated fans of VCHA, a global girl group that debuted earlier this year from a partnership between Republic Records and JYP Entertainment, about the group’s activities.
According to Billboard’s K-pop columnist, Jeff Benjaminthe singer and businessman confirmed VCHA’s comeback for the year 2025, with a complete transformation of the group.
“We are preparing for full activities next year for VCHA. Our plan is to differentiate this group form our existing #Kpop artists with special and unique contents. The preparation period is taking a little longer than usual because the preparation effort is taking longer than expected”…

Still according to information from Jeff, JY Park made it clear that he has no intention of keeping the group to “a K-pop standard” but rather respects local cultures, as the group is made up only of North American members.
“I wanted to make sure they are not K-pop when it comes to the music and the visuals. Even if they are produced by a K-pop company, I don’t want them to be K-pop, I want them to be what they are. They were not born and raised in Korea, they are not influenced by Korean culture, they are talented children who were born and raised here [nos Estados Unidos]. We’re trying to make sure the next album is themselves. Unlike our K-pop and Korean artists, I think the creative teams will be a combination of American producers, musicians, choreographers and making sure it’s them. It will be very different. The new song, the album, the new video will be very different from JYP”
The producer’s statement alleviates a little the concern that VCHA fans feel, as before the congratulatory post for the member Lexiwho celebrates his birthday this Friday, the 22nd, the last update on social media from the group was in June this year.
