Initially scheduled for 2025, BTS’s long-awaited comeback after military service may take a little longer to happen. Understand!
In October 2022, HYBE and BigHit Music issued a joint statement confirming that all BTS members would fulfill their obligations as South Korean citizens and enlist in the military, declaring that the boy group would only reunite in the year 2025, when everyone has finished the job.
“Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reuniting as a group in 2025, following their commitment to service,” the companies say in part of the statement.
It is worth remembering that, currently, only Jin and J-Hope have already been dismissed, while RM, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook They should only be released in June of next year.
In June 2024, the South Korean portal Newsen pointed out that, after the dismissal of all members, the group should reunite to release a new album, as part of the celebration of 10 years since the release of the albums in the ‘Hwa series. Yong Yeon Hwa’, formed by the albums “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Part 1, 2, and Young Forever”, promoted between April 2015 and May 2016. However, this planning seems to be should not happen again.
This is because, during HYBE’s third quarter conference call, held last Tuesday, the 5th, the conglomerate’s CFO, Lee Kyung Joonrevealed that, currently, the agency has discussed with the BTS members the return of full activities as a group for 2026.
As reported by the Koreaboo portal, it is expected that, after being released from mandatory service in June, BTS will use the rest of 2025 to reorganize and prepare all new activities as a septet, making their expected comeback the following year.
