New pages from HYBE’s ‘Music Industry Report’ reveal comments on LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae’s ‘maknae’ behavior
This Friday, the 1st, a HYBE employee revealed more internal company reports mentioning not only idols managed by the label, but also several competing artists and entertainment companies. Among the content, there are comments on the behavior of Eunchaefrom LE SSERAFIM, a group managed by the subsidiary Source Music.
As reported by the Koreaboo portal, the document states that because she is the maknae (youngest member) of the group, and acts in a manner corresponding to the term that defines her, Eunchae It causes jealousy and dissatisfaction, which is why it is often criticized.
In the report, they even mention the Eunchae“Eunchae’s Star Diary”, evaluating how her interactions with male idols impact popular reception.
The excerpt says:
There seems to be some backlash about her maknae persona. It may suggest that your concept is highly effective, arousing jealousy and dissatisfaction. While each team [idol] has a younger member, some question why Eunchae, specifically, receives so much affection. As she doesn’t have a strong vocal or rap stance [no grupo]detractors label her as ‘lucky Kim Sook’, suggesting that she gained attention due to the benefit of another member’s departure [aparentemente se referindo a Garam].
The popular anti-community Taldeoksooyongso [Sojang] took this narrative. Recently, Eunchae’s Star Diary brought her into contact with groups of boys, amplifying the resentment tendency. Complaints include the perception that she overemphasizes her ‘beloved maknae’ side, turning the other members into mother or aunt figures, and making male idols act as caretakers outside of their own groups.
It is worth remembering that, in total, the “music industry report” that was released to the company’s employees weekly by HYBE, has 18 thousand pages, and the first were revealed after the document was presented in the audit of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee of the National Assembly, held on October 24th. The content is mainly composed of criticisms and judgments about the idols’ abilities and appearance, as well as containing mention of rumors.
