In one of the films belonging to the Toy Story franchise it is possible to find a reference to an animated couple from Pixar; find out which one!
Pixar loves references! So much so, that the studio usually places objects and characters featured in old films in its most recent animated titles — a fact that even generated the Pixar Theory, created by journalist Jon Negroniwhere plot details and Easter eggs are used as evidence for the idea that all of the company’s feature films are part of the same universe.
Among the most popular nods are the Pizza Planet car, included in animations since the release of Pixar’s first feature film, ‘Toy Story’, a plot released in 1995, and the code “A133”, which could already be seen as a number of apartments or license plate, and refers to the number of a classroom at the California Institute of the Arts, in the United States.
Still, the vehicle and the code are not the only way the company uses to connect its productions, since in the third film in the franchise starring Woody’s dolls it is possible to find — even though it is well hidden — a reference to one of the couples animated films most loved by the studio’s fans.
Carl and Ellie in ‘Toy Story 3’?
“Toy Story 3” debuted in theaters in 2010 to follow Woody and his friends getting a new home, as Andy had grown up and was going to college. However, after a misunderstanding, Woody, who had been the only one chosen to accompany Andy in the new phase, embarks on a mission to save his toy friends who ended up in a daycare center called Sunnyside.
Amid the emotions of the plot, it is possible to see Woody climbing on Andy’s study table, and among the trophies and medals on display, there is a bulletin board made of cork on which there are several papers held together with thumbtacks, including a postcard. whose back reveals the senders: Carl and Ellie Fredricksen, the couple whose trajectory is presented at the beginning of “Up – Altas Aventuras” (2009).
The question that remains is: how do Carl and Ellie know Andy? Even if there is no answer, it is worth remembering that the Toy Story franchise made another mention of the film that follows Carl realizing the last dream he shared with his wife by taking the residence they lived in to Paradise Falls, a place located in the mountains of Venezuela.
This happened on a poster for “Toy Story 4”, where it is possible to see a painting, behind the featured characters, in which the villain of “Up – Altas Aventuras”, the explorer Charles Muntz, is portrayed alongside his dogs, Alpha, Beta and Gamma; remember:
