Presenter shares recording of Liam Payne’s letter to his 10-year-old self

BBC Radio 2 shared an emotional letter Liam Payne had sent to production during the COVID-19 pandemic

Last Thursday, the 17th, one day after the death of Liam PayneBBC Radio 2 shared a letter that the singer had sent to the production after a surprise visit amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In it, Liam talks to himself at the age of 10, where he talks about the rise of One Direction and his current role as a father in Bear’s life, as well as advising him to “doubt himself less”. Check out the translation below:

Dear 10 year old Liam,

Get ready! Life is about to get a little chaotic. Celebrate every moment with the ones you love now, as if there are only a few more family holidays to enjoy, life will become surreal.

You know that thing you love, singing? Keep going, and when you turn fourteen, something magical will happen, and I’m not talking about puberty.

Not only will you audition for one of the biggest reality shows in the world, but you will also meet the future mother of your child… I know it seems early, but trust me, everything will work out just right. I suggest you watch ‘Back to the Future’, that should help.

Now you’re famous, and it seems like you peaked too soon, you arrogant little boy, but you’ve barely started. Take it easy and remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Let me tell you, this is not the end, and for a while you will want to give up, but don’t. You’re about to meet four guys who are walking the same path as you.

When you first meet them, it will be chaotic, but remember to have fun. Stay young at heart because that’s what life is about. Forgive more and learn to listen.

You will live the most incredible period of your life, travel the world and live a life you can’t even imagine. Then it will be over for a while and there will be nothing left but the road ahead.

It’ll be kind of scary, like you’re alone, but you’re not. You’re about to start a totally different journey with the best person you’ll ever know, your son Bear.

Don’t underestimate yourself in this thing of being a father, just look at all the things you’ve learned over the years and surely that must mean that you have a lot to teach.

Be grateful and try to remember every day that you are doing something you love and that took you 10 years to build. The first single will skyrocket, and you’ll see it coming, but stop doubting yourself and you’ll be fine.

Give your dad, mom and the whole family a big hug for me.
