BTS’s J-Hope is officially exempt from military service

This Thursday, the 17th, J-Hope, from BTS, was officially released from mandatory South Korean military service after 18 months

The wait has finally come to an end! This Thursday, 17th, J-Hopefrom BTS, was officially discharged from South Korean military service, where he served as a training instructor in the 36th Infantry Division of Gangwon Province for 18 months.

In the morning, upon leaving the barracks, he was greeted by Jinwho surprised his friend and groupmate with bouquets of flowers; check out the moment!

Firstly, thank you very much. I completed my service in good health. I am very grateful! I would like to thank all the reporters who came here and also my fans (ARMY), who remained here with me in a healthy and safe way.

During one year and six months of my military service, I served as an instructor, which made me participate in several marches. Each time, I saw many Wonju citizens. I would like to express my gratitude to them, who have always welcomed and supported me. It was very exciting!

What I have really felt over the past few months is the immense dedication and hard work of the soldiers who protect our country. They are doing so much for the nation. I feel like it will be meaningful to give these people a lot of love and interest.”

Until then, just Jin and J-Hope were exempted from military service. Already Jungkook, Jimin, V, Suga and RM should return in June 2025, with the group meeting again only in the second half of the same year.
