The reason why the scene with Harleen “Lee” Quinzel, Lady Gaga’s character, did not make the final cut of the film was explained by the director of the plot
The scene in which Harleen “Lee” Quinzel, character from Lady Gagakisses a woman during the trial of Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenixtook to social media when it was leaked, but ended up being cut from the final version of “Joker: Delirium for Two”. Now the director Todd Phillips explained why the moment was not included, stating that the sequence interrupted the fluidity of the musical, which was a priority at that time.
The scene contained dialogue, but I wanted it to be more of a vibrant, musical moment. For this to work, background dialogue was necessary. In other words, the woman said something, and then Gaga stopped and did that, which ended up disrupting the flow of the moment,” he explained. Phillips to Entertainment Weekly (via CNN).

“Joker: Delirium for Two” continues the events seen in 2019’s “Joker”, following Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenixnow as a patient at Arkham Asylum. There, he awaits trial for the crimes he committed when assuming the Joker persona, and in the meantime, he ends up falling in love with Harleen “Lee” Quinzel (Lady Gaga), who also lives in Arkahm, with whom he lives a romance full of hallucinations until his sentence.
