AsSuzanne Collins and “The Little Bear” are connected? Intertwining the American author with the classic animation that was part of the routine of children who grew up between the 1990s and mid-2000s can be a difficult task right away, but just look at the production credits and the link becomes clear: the creator of “The Hunger Games” saga was the writer of the cartoon shown on TV Cultura!

It turns out Collinsbefore creating the best-seller starring Katniss Everdeen that was soon transformed into a film franchise, he worked writing scripts for productions aimed at children that were produced or distributed by Nickelodeon and, among these, is “The Little Bear”, plot launched in 1995.

Based on the “Little Bear” series of books written by Else Holmelund Minarikthe production whose original broadcast ended in 2001 on CBC, follows the title character of the work living various daily adventures with his parents and friends: Owl, Chicken, Cat and Emily, a human girl who lives nearby.

Still, this was just one of the titles that Collins worked, after all, she was also behind some episodes of the animation “Oswald”, where the daily life of a blue octopus is presented to teach valuable lessons to preschool children, as well as mentions about the author can also be found in “Clarissa Sabe Tudo” and “The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo”, both series that emerged during the 1990s, one comedy and the other mystery, respectively.

Other projects Suzanne also include “Clifford the Dog”, from 2003, and “Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!”, from 2006, which were released while she was writing the literary series for children and young people, “The Underland Chronicles”, which, when counting The adventures of a boy named Gregor in an underground world located beneath New York City became a New York Times bestseller.

Then came the one who would make the name of Collins world famous: “The Hunger Games”, which hit shelves in 2008, presenting a dystopia where the 12 districts of Panem lived under the regime of a tyrannical capital that had a sadistic way of maintaining control over the population: organizing a lethal competition starring by teenagers.

It turns out that this annual contest, called the Hunger Games, brought together a boy and a girl from each district — called tributes —, between 12 and 18 years old, who, after being drawn, had to participate in a game in a controlled arena where they were forced to fight against each other until only one, out of 24 participants, comes out alive.

To tell this story that is full of twists and turns, Collins created Katniss Everdeen as the protagonist, a tribute from district 12 who participates in the 74th Hunger Games in place of her younger sister, Prim, who, due to her intelligence within the arena, becomes a symbol of a revolution that will transform her life and existence forever. from all districts.

The plot became a best-seller around the world and, as a result, gained a film adaptation, with four films released in 2012 and 2015 and a prequel, “The Hunger Games — The Song of Birds and Snakes”, this being the latter released in December 2023 to follow young Coriolanus Snow well before he became the leader of Panem.
