Rachel Zegler, who plays Snow White in the live-action film, spoke out about the wave of negative criticism that the production has received
After the live-action trailer for ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ accumulated more than a million ‘dislikes’, the actress Rachel Zeglerwho plays the princess, spoke about the wave of negative criticism that the production has received. In a recent interview with Variety, she stated that hate is a form of limitation imposed by people, who are not giving something new a chance:
Honestly, it made me sad that people thought that, because I believe women can do anything. I wouldn’t want to limit someone and say ‘If you want love then you can’t work’, or ‘If you want to work then you can’t have a family’, that’s not true! It was never true. It’s really sad when things are taken out of context or jokes don’t work.”
Even before accumulating so many dislikes, the film was already facing some controversies related to the choice of Rachel Zeglerwhich generated criticism following negative comments the actress made about the 1937 animation, and the decision to use CGI to represent the seven dwarfs. However, Disney continued production without officially commenting on any of the topics.
In Brazil, the film already has a release date, arriving in the country’s cinemas on March 20, 2025; remember the trailer:
