I feel like what they’ve done creatively (in the second film) is they’ve really expanded the universe that these characters live in and we’re going to meet some new characters. We’re going to meet some characters that are old (fan) favorites and some that I think are really for those who know the universe really well, but because of the way the story is unfolding now, these characters are going to be very intriguing.”
One of the characters who already has his appearance guaranteed is Yoshi, because in the post-credits scene of “Super Mario Bros. – The Movie”, we see a green egg hatching in the pipes of Brooklyn, accompanied by his iconic voice like in the games.
