But, after all, who is Abby?
In the game “The Last Of Us Part 2”, Abby Anderson is presented as the daughter of Dr. Jerry Anderson, a surgeon from the anti-government Fireflies militia, who would be responsible for performing Ellie’s surgery to try to create a vaccine against the cordyceps virus. .
Jerry, however, is one of the victims of the Fireflies team murdered by Joel (a character played by Pedro Pascal in the series), to save Ellie’s life and prevent the creation of the vaccine. With the death of the group, Abby and the rest of the survivors trigger a feeling of revenge, and start looking for the killer throughout the story.
After the death of her father, Abby ends up joining the Washington Liberation Front, a military group also known as the “Wolves”, and becomes physically stronger to carry out her revenge, regardless of what happens, becoming an exemplary soldier and earning the respect of Isaac, leader of the group.

During their search, they manage to find Joel, with Abby and her companions cornering him and beating him to death, all in front of Ellie, marking one of the most traumatizing moments in the franchise.
Although the character’s death in the series has not yet been confirmed, Pedro Pascal has already stated in an interview with Esquire that he is not opposed to Joel’s tragic fate, since, according to him, “it wouldn’t make sense to follow the first game so faithfully only to deviate severely from the path”.
The second season of “The Last of Us” premieres on Max and HBO scheduled for the first half of 2025.
