Disney Villains Who Almost Won in the End

Find out which Disney villains almost won at the end of their stories

Have you ever stopped to think that Disney’s villains narrowly missed out on the good guys? Each one had their own goals and plans to achieve them, and for a moment, they got what they wanted.

The difference is that some celebrate their victories for longer than others. Recreio brought some villains who almost came out 100% victorious at the end of the story. Check it out!

1. Evil Queen

The Evil Queen’s plan from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was simple: to become the fairest of them all, and to do so, she needed to “get rid” of Snow White. After her attempt with the huntsman goes wrong, she herself goes after the princess to carry out her plan.

The villain manages to do the hardest thing, which is to convince the girl to eat an apple, which was poisoned and was given to her by a “complete stranger”. When the princess eats the fruit, the villain has her moment of victory, because the girl goes into a deep sleep, and would probably be buried alive, since the dwarves would think she died and, until then, Snow White had no true love.

The queen just didn’t count on what would happen next: she was chased by the dwarves, struck by lightning, and the little ones didn’t have the courage to bury the princess. In addition, the prince she met at the beginning of the story ended up appearing and being her true love. Thus, the Evil Queen was defeated shortly after her goal was achieved.

2. Jafar

Jafar, the villain of “Aladdin”, had his moments of glory for a short time. One of his greatest desires was to be a sultan, something he achieved when he made his first wish to the Genie, while he had possession of the magic lamp.

The truth is that all his wishes come true, showing that, for a short period of time, he had a victory over Aladdin. Things changed when he realized that he had fallen into a trap set by the hero. But, until the moment he is not trapped in the lamp, Jafar has won over the hero.

3. Maleficent

In “Sleeping Beauty,” we see that Maleficent wants revenge for not being invited to the party in honor of Princess Aurora. At first, she emerges victorious, since she manages to separate the princess from her parents, causing the pain that the villain wanted to cause. The girl is separated from her parents for 16 years, and ends up pricking her finger on a spinning wheel needle, as the evil fairy had cursed, and the protagonist’s only salvation was her true love, who for a time was imprisoned in Maleficent’s dungeons.

Thus, until the moment the fairies released the prince from his prison, Maleficent was the winner of the whole story. If the fairies had not interfered, it is likely that Aurora would still be sleeping today, and Phillip would have died of old age, just as the villain said he would.

4. Scar

One villain who had his way for many years was Scar from “The Lion King.” All of his plans, which were based on deception, worked out in some way. After he murdered Mufasa, his own brother, and caused Simba to flee, he was declared king of the Pride Lands and remained in power for a long time.

Things only changed because Nala found Simba, and convinced him to come back and fight for his right. If that didn’t happen, Scar would be king until his last breath.

5. Ernesto de La Cruz

If we stop to think about it, Ernesto de La Cruz, from “Coco”, was actually the real winner of the story. In life, he gained fame and money with songs that weren’t his and, to achieve this, he killed his best friend, without any guilty conscience. And what’s more: even after his death, he continued to be remembered and admired by all of Mexico, while Hector, the real musician, died and was being forgotten by his family.

The truth only came to light when Miguel managed to visit the Land of the Dead and unmask the villain to those who had already died and, later, to the living. And don’t be shocked: Ernesto fooled everyone, including the viewers.
