Before watching Charlie Puth’s performance at Rock in Rio, remember some of the singer’s collaborations with K-pop stars
This Thursday, the 19th, another day of the Rock in Rio festival takes place, held in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Among the highlights of the night is the American singer, composer and producer Charlie Puthwhich takes to the Palco Mundo stage at 9:20 pm (Brasília time).
Nominated for important awards such as the Grammy Awards and Golden Globes, Charlie has countless hits in its repertoire, which should be part of today’s setlist, including tracks such as “Attention”, “One Call Away” and its most recent release “Hero”, a single released in May of this year.
Throughout his career, Puth also collaborated with major artists, such as rapper Wiz Khalifa for the song “See You Again”, soundtrack of the film “Fast and Furious 7”; Selena Gomez in “We Don’t Talk Anymore”; Meghan Trainor in “Marvin Gaye”; Kehlani with “Done for Me”; Elton John in “After All”; and many others.
In addition to great stars of Western music, Charlie Puth has also collaborated with some K-pop artists. His first interaction on stage with South Korean music stars happened in 2018, when he sang alongside BTS on stage at the MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards. At the time, the stars performed the songs “See You Again”, “We Don’t Talk Anymore” and “Fake Love”. Remember!
In 2022, the singer returned to work with one of the BTS members: Jungkook. In June, the duo released the song “Left and Right”, as part of the American artist’s album “Charlie”. The track came with a super fun music video, where the artists appear in various colorful settings.
The year 2024 marked the arrival of new collaborations from Puth with other K-pop idols. On April 1st, BABYMONSTER, YG Entertainment’s new girl group, released their first mini-album “BABYMONSTER”, which features the song “Like That”, composed by Charlie exclusively for the girl group.
The song was a gift from the singer to the group members, after the video of Ahyeon singing his song “Dangerously” during the reality show “Last Evaluation” went viral on social media.
Finally, on May 10th of this year, Charlie Puth participated in the song “Lose My Breath” by Stray Kids, where he composed alongside the members Bang Chan, Changbin and Hanmarking the boy group’s first single sung entirely in English.
