According to netizens, the company is looking for ways to avoid negative comments about the NewJeans case in the South Korean press.
According to information reported by the Koreaboo portal, the HYBE conglomerate has been accused of pressuring the South Korean media to delete negative publications related to its recent conflict with Min Hee Jinformer CEO of ADOR, and his interests related to NewJeans.
The portal claims that the accusation arose after KBS, one of South Korea’s main media outlets, published a report alleging that the team Hee Jin had advised Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyeinthe members of NewJeans, not to perform the live broadcast last week, with the publication being taken down shortly afterwards.
In the KBS article, it was said that the idols had initially planned to hold a press conference right after Min from the position of CEO of ADOR, however, they were prevented by the team, to avoid breach of contract and misunderstandings. However, due to their determination to expose their position, the artists ended up doing the live broadcast on their own.
After the article was deleted, fans began commenting on the Instiz forum that this was supposedly a possible strategy by HYBE to avoid negative press coverage on the matter. Check out the original Instiz post here.
Among the comments from Internet users are:
- “Can HYBE make KBS pull articles from everywhere?”
- “If you keep talking about the right to refute and use threats, what power do journalists have?”
- “Did they threaten them again with the right of rebuttal and other things?”
- “I am really sick and tired of HYBE.”
So far, HYBE has not yet commented on the matter.
