Discover the k-dramas that have already featured Jisoo, a member of BLACKPINK
On Tuesday, 10, South Korean media insiders released the news that Jisooa member of BLACKPINK, is reportedly set to star in the new k-drama “Monthly Boyfriend” alongside the actor Seo In-guk. As reported by Soompi, the duo would have received the proposal, and would still be in negotiations for the role.
This, however, will not be the first time that BLINKs, BLACKPINK fans, will have the opportunity to see Jisoo in front of the small screen. That’s because, throughout her eight-year career, the idol has had the opportunity to participate and star in some k-dramas — and RECREIO will present them all to you now. Check it out!
1. The Producers (2015)
The first contact of Jisoo with the performance was in the k-drama “The Producers”, a production that accompanies Seung-Chan (Kim Soo-Hyun), a man who decides to work in the entertainment division of the KBS broadcasting company, where he ends up falling in love with a co-worker. In the production, the BLACKPINK member only made a special appearance, playing herself in episodes 4 and 12.
2. Arthdal Chronicles (2019)
In “Arthdal Chronicles”, a mythological drama set in the fictional city of Arthdal during ancient times, starring Song Joong Ki, Jang Dong-Gun and Kim Ji-Won, Jisoo also makes a special appearance, where she appears for a few seconds as the character Saenarae in the seventh episode.
3. Snowdrop (2021-2022)
“Snowdrop” marks the big debut of Jisoo as an actress. Produced by JTBC, the work presents the romance story between Im Soo Ho (Jung Haein), a North Korean spy, and student Eun Young-ro (Kim Jisoo). In the plot, Soo Ho seeks shelter at a women’s university in Seoul after being injured and receives help from Young-ro who, unaware of the risks he is running, helps the young man hide.
4. Newtopia (premiering in 2025)
Being the next k-drama that will feature Jisoo as the protagonist, “Newtopia” is scheduled to premiere in 2025, and will present the story of the couple Lee Jae-Yoon (Park Jeong Min) and Kang Young-Joo (Kim Jisoo), who must do everything to stay alive after an unknown virus spreads through the city, turning everyone infected into zombies.
5. Dr. Cheon and The Lost Talisman (2023)
In 2023, Jisoo made a cameo appearance in her first film, “Dr. Cheon and The Lost Talisman,” a film that follows Dr. Cheon, a fake exorcist who doesn’t believe in ghosts but has supernatural visions, and is hired to work on a case unlike any other he’s ever experienced. In the film, the BLACKPINK member plays a celestial maiden.
6. Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint (2024)
In January of this year, Jisoo was confirmed in the film “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint”, where she starred alongside names such as Lee Min Ho, Chae Soo Bin, Choi Young Joon, Park Ho San and Shin Seung Ho. The film, which has already finished filming, will adapt the web novel of the same name, which tells the story of Kim Dok Ja, a character who, after reading a web novel, ends up having the same life as he read about. So far, the role of Jisoo has not yet been revealed.
