According to the rules of the competition, the national selection of the participants and the announcement of the Eurovision performers will begin after it is known in which city the competition will be held.
Cyprus has become the first country to announce its representative for Eurovision 2025, which will take place in Basel, Switzerland.
The country will be represented by musician Theo Evan, who has been interested in music and dancing since childhood. He wrote his first song as a teenager, and in 2021 he released his debut track called The Wall.
It is not yet known which song Theo will perform in the competition, but he expressed his excitement and pride at the opportunity to represent Cyprus on such a big stage.
“I am honored and excited to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. I look forward to being with you all on this journey,” the artist shared with his fans.
Theo Evan was born and raised in Cyprus, where he danced as a child, sang in the school choir and participated in theater productions. After graduating from the English School in Nicosia, he moved to the United States to study music and performing arts at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. His studies were highly praised and he was invited three times as the guest of honor at the university’s graduation ceremony.
It was previously reported that Montenegro will return to Eurovision 2025 after a two-year break.
