Princess Diana’s brother has paid tribute to her 27 years after she disappeared in Paris in 1997 with an emotional post on social media.
Twenty-seven years after Lady Dee’s death, her memory lives on in the minds of royal fans and her brother Charles Spencer. On Saturday, August 31, the latter paid tribute to his memory on his social networks by publishing several photos from press publications. In particular, we see a photo of their parents holding the princess as a newborn on the day of her christening. “Lord and Lady Althorp’s third daughter christened,” reads the headline.
The eight-week-old princess-to-be had just been christened at Sandringham Church “on a particularly sunny Wednesday afternoon”. Other photos show the ex-wife of King Charles III as a child pushing a horse on wheels in the garden of the building. The tribute to Charles Spencer, who did not title his post, letting the images speak for themselves, is all the more poignant as these pieces appear to have been tenderly assembled in a cardboard box to preserve them over time.
Let’s remind that the mother of Princes Harry and William died on August 31, 1997 in a car accident under the Alma bridge in Paris. Dodi Al-Fayed, as well as the driver of the car, Henry Paul, also died from injuries. A week later, around 3 million people flocked to attend their princess’ funeral near or far, hoping to see her coffin through St James’s Park in London.
