With that in mind, RECREIO has put together a list of five K-pop songs that can make anyone cry.
1. Feel Special — TWICE
“Feel Special” is considered one of the most important songs for TWICE both for the members and for the fans. The track was written by JY Parkfounder of JYP Entertainment, especially for the group. According to him, the song came about at a time when Sana was going through a difficult time, and all eight members were always by her side to support her, making the friendship and closeness between the idols inspire him to compose the song.
In an interview with CNN Brasil, JYP explained that he wrote the song in honor of the artists’ friendship and, after finishing it, he wrote the lyrics on a piece of paper, framed it and gave it as a gift to Sana. In this context, listening to the song and paying attention to the lyrics, which talk about how someone can make you feel special even in your worst moments, can make anyone cry.
2. eight — IU feat. Suck (BTS)
In “eight”, the soloist’s first collaboration UI with Sucksby BTS, is an emotional song that reflects on nostalgia, hope, happiness and loss. According to fan theories, the track would be a tribute to the idol’s friends, Sulliformer member of f(x), and Jonghyunfrom SHINee, who passed away prematurely.

Released in 2023, “Circle”, the title track of the first solo studio album by Onewleader of SHINee, explores the idea of how life is an eternal cycle. In the lyrics, the artist reflects on how we are all unique and go through different experiences, but at the same time, we will all go through the same cycles, such as meetings and farewells.
Some fans even theorize that the track could also be a small outburst from Onew about how much he misses Jonghyuna member of SHINee who passed away in 2017, at the age of 27.
5. Turbulence — ATEEZ
In “Turbulence,” a track featured on ATEEZ’s 2021 album “Zero: Fever Epilogue,” the boy group reflects on the emotional instability and uncertainties of youth, and it’s a song that always brings the members to tears when performed on stage.
In the lyrics, in addition to talking about the doubts about the future that every young person faces, the group also comments on the pressures imposed by society during youth while we are still searching for our place in the world.
