Find out which BTS hit earned the group their first Grammy nod

One of the biggest goals for singers and artists is certainly to win an award or be nominated in the main music awards. However, there is no guarantee that these achievements will come any time soon, especially when the musical genre in question is part of a more niche culture.

Despite having been in the music industry for over 10 years, BTS only got their first Grammy Award nomination in 2021, after releasing the hit “Dynamite” during the COVID-19 pandemic. The song has reached over 1 billion views on YouTube, giving the boy group much more recognition from the international industry.

Through an interview with Amazon Music in December 2020, the group says that all seven of them were gathered on the couch when they found out about the nomination in the category of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, which caused them to show different reactions, but all full of surprise and excitement at the news.

Unfortunately, all seven members were unable to attend the awards ceremony in person that year, which meant that the performance of “Dynamite” was broadcast live to the public; watch it!

In the end, BTS did not take home the award, losing the chance to win to “Rain on Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. However, the song was awarded at several other events, including the Mnet Music Awards, the Golden Disc Awards, the People’s Choice Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards.
