Following the revelation of Taeil’s departure from NCT due to a serious police investigation, the game NCT ZONE will delete content featuring the idol.
On the morning of Wednesday, the 28th, SM Entertainment issued a statement announcing the departure of Taeilof NCT, after the idol was accused of a sexual crime, and is currently under police investigation.
“This is SM Entertainment.
We recently learned that Taeil has been charged in a criminal case related to a sexual crime.
Upon evaluating the facts regarding this matter, we recognize the seriousness of the situation and have determined that Taeil can no longer continue his activities with the team (NCT). After discussing with Taeil, we have decided to have him leave the group.
Taeil is currently cooperating fully with the police investigation. We will provide further statements as the investigation progresses.
We deeply apologize for the concern and distress caused to our artist,” reads the note shared on social media.
After the release of the statement, Taeil has gradually had his image disassociated from the group. In addition to the official accounts of NCT and NCT 127, and most of the members unfollowing the idol on Instagram and deleting photos with him, now the singer will also be excluded from updates on NCT ZONE, a game inspired by the boy group.
Through X (formerly Twitter), the game’s official account published a note declaring that Taeil will not be in future updates, and all content related to it will eventually be deleted. Check out the full translation:
“Hello, this is NCT ZONE.
Today we received an important announcement about TAEIL.
As a result, NCT ZONE has decided not to release any more content or updates related to TAEIL, and the update scheduled for August 29 has been canceled.
Before deleting all existing content related to TAEIL, we will evaluate how best to conduct the process in a way that does not cause any harm to NCTzens who enjoy NCT ZONE.
We kindly ask for your patience.
Future update schedules will be announced in a separate notice.
Thanks”.
