Crooks searched more than 60 times for information about Trump and his then-rival, US President Joe Biden.
The FBI analyzed Internet searches for Thomas Matthew Crooks, a suspect in the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, over the past five years. No motive was found to do so. The Washington Post writes about it on Wednesday, August 28.
Investigators also found no evidence that the suspect was carrying out someone else’s orders;
According to the US intelligence agency, in the month before the attack, Crooks made more than 60 search queries about Trump and current US President Joe Biden.
The shooter’s online history shows that he sought information about the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention, as well as researching the logistics of the Trump rally in Pennsylvania. Finally, in early July, he registered to attend a Trump rally in Pennsylvania.
FBI Special Agent Kevin Rojack noted that Crooks’ online activity also did not indicate that he shared left-wing or right-wing views, but rather had a “mix of ideologies.”
The intelligence service emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that agents continue to gather information about the attacker and his possible accomplices.
Note that during an assassination attempt on Trump during a campaign rally on July 13, a bullet grazed his ear, killing one person in the stands behind Trump and injuring two others. The attacker, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed on the spot by Secret Service agents.
Law enforcement in the United States has detained a man who threatened to kill former President Donald Trump on social networks. The arrest of 66-year-old Ronald Sivrud took place on Thursday, August 22, in Cochise County, Arizona.
