“Howard the Duck” (1986) was the pioneer of titles that received the Marvel seal, as reported by the CBR portal. The plot is based on the comic book of the same name created by Steve Gerberand published by Marvel Comics.

The plot features Howard, an anthropomorphic duck who was born on Duckworld, a planet of intelligent ducks that walk and talk. The story, led by Willard Huyckfollows the character after he falls into an interdimensional rift and ends up on Earth, more precisely, in Cleveland, a city in Ohio, in the United States, where he ends up making friends with a rock star named Beverly (Lea Thompson), after saving her from bandits.

The alien, who loves cigarettes and drinks, ends up getting involved in several problems, even more so when he meets Phil (Tim Robbins), who works in a laboratory with scientist Dr. Jenning (Jeffrey Jones), since in an attempt to return to his home planet, he ends up receiving an evil spirit in his own body.

As much as the creator of the Star Wars universe has, George Lucasas producer, the live-action feature film won the Golden Raspberry Award in the year of its release, an award given to the worst film productions. In addition, on Rotten Tomatoes, the film that mixes the genres of comedy, science fiction, adventure and fantasy, has an approval rating of 13% based on 86 Tomatometer reviews, and a public score of 38%, with more than fifty thousand reviews, entering the ranking of Marvel’s least prestigious productions.

Still, it is worth remembering that, despite the low approval rating, “Howard the Superhero” is not the worst-rated Marvel film. Before it, the list includes “Fantastic Four” (2015), with 9%, “Elektra” (2005), with 11%, and “Captain America: The Movie” (1990), which has 12% approval. The top five is rounded out by “Morbius” (2022), which has 16% approval.
