Find out when and how BTS’s Suga created a date for J-Hope, which is celebrated to this day by the group’s fandom, the ARMYs!
Celebrating birth anniversary on February 18, J-Hopefrom BTS, doesn’t have just one day a year dedicated to celebrating its existence! That’s because, on August 16th, ARMYs [como é chamado o fandom do grupo] They also dedicate the first hours of the day to honor the voice of “Arson”.
J-Hope Day?
It turns out that in the 2016 Season’s Greetings and agenda book, another BTS member chose the date as “J-Hope Day.” The idol in question was Suckswhich in addition to marking the day, also defined the actions carried out for this celebration:

However, that’s not the only celebration ARMY holds in August. It turns out that the day before “J-Hope Day” is also the celebration of the release of J-Hope’s first mixtape. Sucks“Agust D”, which came packed with 10 tracks: “Intro: DT sugA”, “Agust D”, “give it to me”, “skit”, “724148”, “140503 at dawn, “The Last”, “Tony Montana”, “Interlude: Dream, Reality”, and “so far away”.
More than that, this year, the month of August brought two more surprises to the fandom. The first of these was revealed on the 6th with the BT21 themed menu at McDonald’s, which in addition to exclusive sauces to accompany the snacks already known by McDonald’s consumers, also brings collectible versions of the characters created by the BTS members in 2017 for the Line Friends Creators project, carried out in partnership with one of the main messaging apps in Asia, Line.
They are:
- Koya: the blue koala full of talent who lives in sleep, idealized by RM;
- RJ: the white, furry alpaca who wears a bandana tied around his neck and loves to cook, drawn by Jin;
- Shooky: the playful cookie that can’t stand milk, designed from sketches by Sucks;
- Manga: the squirrel who loves to dance and, for many years, kept his real identity hidden behind a blue pony mask with a heart-shaped snout, created by J-Hope;
- Chimmy: the one who wears a yellow sweatshirt and is always willing to work hard, which emerged from the drafts of Jimin;
- Dad: the alien from planet BT, whose face is heart-shaped and whose body is blue and covered in yellow dots, can stretch his body and has supernatural powers, according to the ideas of V;
- Cooky: the pink rabbit who despite his cute appearance, wants to be seen as someone strong, drawn by Jungkook.
Finally, fans were also able to watch the new travel series “Are You Sure?!”, exclusive to Disney+. Released on August 8, the eight episodes follow Jungkook and Jimin on trips taken before the pair enlisted in the army in December last year.
Filmed during the year 2023, the production shows the duo passing through New York, in the United States, where they enjoyed the summer canoeing and hiking; as well as through Jeju Island, in South Korea, where they went diving and fishing in the fall; and finally, through Sapporo, in Japan, where they were able to ski in the snow during the winter.
