A tank under a white-red-white flag entered the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting an offensive operation.
The video of the tank was given to journalists by a Belarusian soldier with the call sign Gerard, commander of the armored vehicle evacuation unit of the 225th separate assault battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Belarusians created their own unit within the battalion – “Tour”.
The unit works with the Belarusians: tricolors fall to the ground, Russians surrender, and “Akhmat” is just tea. Dictatorships will definitely fall! And we are directly involved in this! – the tankers write in a telegram.
The command took the creation of the Belarusian unit positively. Especially since it shows results.
Gerard said that his battalion was the first to enter the Kursk region.
We went in like a knife through butter. Everything went very simply. When every step, every action is simply planned, and everyone fulfills their tasks 100%, everything turned out just great, – the fighter recalled.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured many Russian soldiers. He cites the figure in 2000, while Western journalists speak of 2,500 captured Russians.
The command simply abandoned them. They had no communication, they had no food or water supplies. And after three days of sitting in a landing without water or food, you slowly start to die. Most people simply decided to surrender, says Gerard.
According to him, most of the prisoners are conscripts aged 18-23.
The Belarusian tank unit, part of the 225th separate assault battalion, won a unique trophy for Ukraine in the spring — a modern Russian tank T-90M “Proryv-3”. This modification is one of the new Russian developments.
I hope that our operation on the T-90M “Breakthrough-3” will remain in history, because it is a truly unique tank and the operation was the most difficult. I am very glad that we managed to do it, – said Gerard.
