Selena Gomez and David Henrie get emotional on the set of ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’

Last Friday, the 9th, during the first night of D23, Disney’s main fan convention, the studio revealed the first trailer for “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place”, a revival of the renowned series “Wizards of Waverly Place”, from Disney Channel, which will bring back Selena Gomez to the role of Alex Russo, and David Henrie like his older brother, Justin Russo.

During the preview, in addition to having a small spoiler of the scenarios and some scenes, we also see David and Selena returning to the set for the first time, with the acting duo getting emotional about being back on the series that defined their careers.

“This is where it all started,” Selena says in the video as she looks around the room where she and her ‘brothers’ used to take spell casting lessons.

“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” will take place 12 years after the events of the series, and will follow Justin starting an ordinary life with his wife and children after giving up his powers, following a mysterious accident that happened at WizTech.

However, what the oldest Russo least expected is that everything will change after a young witch appears at his door asking for help, where now he will need to embrace his past, and help train the girl by giving magic lessons – just as he did years before.

In addition to David Henrieand the special participation of Selena, David DeLuise and Maria Canals Barrerawho play Jerry and Teresa Russo, are also expected to appear in some episodes. Jake T. AustinMax, the youngest of the family, and Jennifer StoneHarper, Alex’s best friend, have not yet had their participation confirmed.

As for the new cast, we will have Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, the young witch who will be trained by Justin; Mimi Gianopulos giving life to Giadi, Justin’s wife; in addition to Max Matenko and Alkaio Thiele as the protagonist’s children. For now, the revival still has no release date set for Disney+.
