BTS’ Suga to face criminal investigation after driving electric scooter under the influence of alcohol

While many electric scooters are classified as personal mobility devices, the model that Sucks was driving is classified as a motorized bicycle. In the country, this is equivalent to the same weight as driving a car. Furthermore, according to the According to the Highway Traffic Law, driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or higher is punishable by a fine of between ₩5.00 million Won (about US$20,148) and ₩10.0 million Won (about US$40,240) or imprisonment of 1 to 2 years.

The exact amount of alcohol Suga had after taking the breathalyzer test was not disclosed, but the case remains ongoing at the Yongsan Police Station.
