While Marvel is known for its iconic heroes, the studio also features a diverse range of anti-heroes; get to know some of them!
While Marvel is widely recognized for its iconic heroes, the studio also features a variety of characters who don’t have all the typical “good guy” qualities. Deadpool, for example, falls into the “anti-hero” category, as his behavior and questionable beliefs make us question his morals.
Just like the talkative mercenary, some other well-known Marvel characters also fall into the anti-hero group; get to know or remember five of them!
1. Wolverine
Deadpool’s sidekick in the latest film in the franchise, Wolverine is one of the studio’s best-known anti-heroes. Even though he is often associated with the X-Men, and definitely fights for good, the character often resorts to questionable methods to achieve his goals.
2. Winter Soldier
Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes, nicknamed “Bucky” in the comics and Marvel adaptations, became a guinea pig for the Russians after an unsuccessful mission for the American government during World War II. Because of this tragedy, the character was brainwashed and subjected to some experiments by the enemies, causing him to forget his past and Steve Rogers (Captain America), his former battle companion.
After transforming into the skilled “Winter Soldier”, his actions caught the attention of SHIELD, who decided to use his deadly abilities to benefit the “good guys”. However, he continued to carry out some espionage missions during this process.

3. Venom
Venom, one of Spider-Man’s best-known villains, also fits into the category of Marvel’s anti-heroes. His trajectory in the comics reveals an intriguing evolution, in which he gradually transforms into a protector of the innocent. Willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill this role, Venom does not hesitate to adopt brutal methods if necessary, gaining the attention and sympathy of the public throughout the storyline.

4. Elektra
Elektra Natchios is a ninja who enters the life of Matt Murdock, Daredevil, when he is still a child, when he recognizes her some time later as his childhood sweetheart. The murder of Elektra’s father separates them, and, marked by grief, she becomes an assassin in the service of the Kingpin.
After nearly dying at the hands of her arch-nemesis Bullseye, Elektra gets her own series, where she searches for redemption. During this journey, she even collaborates with SHIELD, showing her commitment to finding a new purpose.

5. Black Widow
Even though Natasha Romanoff is part of the Avengers team, her methods often raise doubts. Initially working for Russian intelligence KGB, Black Widow has also been a member of Hydra and SHIELD itself, which generates some distrust due to her espionage skills and complex past.
