How will Iron Man become Dr. Doom?
In the comics, Dr. Doom, arch-enemy of Marvel’s First Family, is introduced in the fifth issue of the Fantastic Four magazine,Stan Lee It is Jack Kirbylaunched in 1962.
However, the first character played by Downey Jr. in a Marvel film his image is linked to Victor von Doom much later, in ‘Infamous Iron Man’, released in 2018.
This is because the work, scripted by Brian Michael Bendis and designed by Alex Maleevis set after the events of Civil War II (2016), and shows a brief redemption of the villain who, after Iron Man falls into a coma, decides to take on the Iron Man suit and do good.
As a hero, von Doom fights other great villains, among them the Hood, one of the last antagonists he faces before abandoning his heroic days and returning to his place of origin, the small European nation of Latveria, in order to dissolve the problems established after his absence.
Even though this is the original story, it is possible that for the MCU the plot will be adapted to connect with previous events.
More about Dr. Destino
Described as a “scientific genius, with an insatiable thirst for power and a huge ego” by Marvel, Victor Von Doom is one of the greatest villains in the universe created by Stan Lee.
Coming from a poor family, he, who lost his father and mother in a tragic way, got a scholarship to America’s State University in New York, and wanted to focus on his studies to forget the pain he suffered when he said goodbye to his family. However, at the university he met Reed RichardsMr. Fantastic, and soon a rivalry begins between the two – a rivalry that is taken to the Fantastic Four – who refuse to recognize the genius that they both possess.
While still a student, he is involved in an accident while testing a device that would bridge the gap between dimensions, and due to the scars generated, he begins to wear the iconic iron mask that marks the beginning of his villainy.
It is worth remembering that Von Doom has extensive scientific knowledge, especially when it comes to robotics and weaponry, facts that helped him overthrow the former government of Latveria and take command of the country where he was born.
