Ketzia Chetrite, together with her brother Sivan, launched the brand Tressé, which offers brilliant and original clothing and tableware collections.
It’s such a sunny brand that it’s almost essential this fall summer. A house that offers strong, colorful, recognizable and desirable pieces. And this, be it clothes, accessories or decoration. Because Tressé is not just a fashion label. It’s also a tableware house that offers iconic objects, such as its dove-shaped key, as well as temporary collaborations. Founded by Ketzia and Sivan Chetrite, the brand has just teamed up with New York influencer Leandra Medin, founder of the website Café Leandra, to offer a cheerful capsule including cups, plates and other candle holders.
Entering Tressé’s Paris offices, you are immediately immersed in its summery and nomadic world. There is nothing surprising when you know that the idea was born from the desire to talk about travel. “Stuck at home during the story, my brother Sivan and I wanted to create our fashion and lifestyle brand around the idea of a suitcase. I was a lawyer at the time and he was in real estate. We launched with the idea of bringing something different to the market,” recalls Kecia Chetrite. In a sometimes very standardized way, Tressé stands out for its joy and its distinct bias.

Family history
The brother and sister may have worked in professions far from the world of fashion, but they were still immersed in clothes from an early age. Their mother, Evelyn Chetrit, founded Sandro in 1987, and their aunt, Judith Milgrom, founded Maje in 1998. “My first memories are in creative studios. Today, our mother advises us, but above all she inspires us. We love looking at the very creative and colorful tables she always creates for our family meals, a talent she gets from our grandmother,” says Ketzia Chetritte.
For their first collections, the founders chose to focus on the objects we bring back from travel: a light dress, a souvenir t-shirt or beautiful locally made ceramics. Little by little, the dressing room is expanding. “Every collection is imbued with purpose. We started from the south of France, India, then Italy.” Topics are chosen as a team based on individual preferences. “I am connected to the south, I got married there. For India, our Head of Collection Mari and Stylist Marine brought back their travel diaries and memories for inspiration. We are currently traveling to Italy, a country we all love at Tressé.”

Symbolic braid
In these famous suitcases, we find confident, elaborate, remarkable pieces. There are always dresses in ramie or linen, precious materials for Ketzia Chétrite, hand-painted prints, sun buttons with a hammer logo on them and of course the braid that we find in the opening of jeans or skirts.
This braid has a specific meaning, “it symbolizes the idea of connection, family. Ours, but also represented by this brand, to which each person who works for us brings a little bit of themselves. This word also has a craft meaning. We are very dedicated to the way we produce. We try to reduce our carbon footprint, we support shipping, we work with eco-responsible factories and ecotex materials. We are not perfect, but on our scale we are doing our best.
This affordable luxury brand therefore manufactures its clothing in Europe and India, “where artisans specialize in embroidery, particularly rhinestones, which we use for our party dresses.” As for the ceramics, they are handcrafted by artisans in Portugal and Italy. Fashion or decorative pieces are always sold in limited quantities.

The brand, which is growing successfully, has just opened three new stores after Paris in Aix, Cannes and Saint-Tropez. Why so many in the Southeast? “There’s real enthusiasm for the brand in the South, so it made sense for us to open there. But we also want to grow elsewhere than in France, in the rest of Europe. Each location is different and designed so that customers have a physical, sensory experience, immersion.” Definitely a very complete universe.
