The sequel to the film released in 2015, ‘Inside Out 2’ has been in theaters for four weeks and has already managed to break an impressive record among animated titles from the Disney and Pixar label by surpassing the billion mark at the box office.
It turns out that the story that follows Riley facing new changes after reaching puberty and dealing with the arrival of new emotions, has already accumulated US$ 543.5 million in the United States and US$ 708 million in the international market, values that together add up to US$ 1.251 billion, making this Pixar’s highest-grossing film of all time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It’s worth remembering that this milestone previously belonged to ‘The Incredibles 2’, which accumulated US$1.242 billion at the box office around the world when released in June 2018 to follow Elastigirl back in action while Mr. Incredible takes care of the children.

Additionally, the plot that sees Riley’s mind control room going haywire as the girl deals with the discovery that her two best friends are changing schools and hatches a plan where securing a spot on the hockey team could be her chance to form a new group of friends for high school, had the best global animated debut of all time by grossing US$295 million in its opening weekend.
The title also became the fastest animated film to reach $1 billion at the box office, achieving the feat in 19 days. Previously, the record belonged to “Frozen 2”, which achieved the same number in 25 days.
What’s more, ‘Inside Out 2’ is already the highest-grossing film of 2024, surpassing ‘Dune 2’ which earned US$711 million while it was in theaters. See the list:
