Discover which films are responsible for making up Disney’s Golden Age, one of the most important for the renowned studio.
Founded 100 years ago, Disney is considered one of the greatest powers in the film industry, due to its many contributions to the development of techniques and innovations for world cinema, in addition to the creation of stories that have marked the lives of thousands of people around the world.
Having been in the market for so long, and containing an extensive history full of ups and downs, to facilitate the public’s understanding of everything that happened in its centenary, the studio’s trajectory ended up being divided into Eras, taking into account the historical context of the society of each era, the financial situation of the studio and the situation of the film industry.
They are: Silent Era (1923 — 1927); Pre-Golden Age (1928 — 1933); The Golden Age (1937 — 1942); War Period (1943 — 1949); Silver Age (1950 — 1967); Bronze Age (1970 — 1988); Renaissance Age (1989 — 1999); Post-Renaissance Era (2000 — 2009); Revival Age (2010 — 2019) and the Streaming Age (2020 — Present).
Although all of them are extremely important to the studio’s history, the Golden Age, however, seems to be one of the most memorable for fans. This is because this was the period responsible for Disney’s first feature films, in addition to featuring major innovations, such as the creation of the Fantasound System, which introduced a new way of reproducing sounds on the big screen, and is still used today.
