After a difficult start to the year for the British royal family, the Prince and Princess of Wales are hoping to enjoy a “carefree” summer with their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis.

Earned summer. Meanwhile, the start of the year for the royal family was marred by a series of bad news: King Charles III’s cancer, the announcement of Kate Middleton’s hospitalization, followed by the scandal surrounding her disappearance, and then the announcement of her cancer diagnosis in the summer. Here’s hoping the holidays go smoother.

Agreed GOOD! The Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly looking forward to a holiday in August at Balmoral, the royal family’s traditional summer retreat. Above all, they want to offer their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, a “fun and carefree” summer away from health problems and other royal commitments.

“It’s been quite a year for the Royal Family so far, and nothing would please the King more than to reunite his immediate family for a while in the peace of Balmoral, to take stock together, to celebrate what has been an incredibly difficult few months and to look back; the future,” said former BBC royal correspondent Jenny Bond.

A highly symbolic place

Balmoral is a particularly symbolic place for Prince William, who describes the Balmoral estate as “the source of his happiest but also his saddest memories”. “I was at Balmoral when I was told my mother had died. (…) And in the dark days of sadness that followed, I found solace in Scottish nature. As a result, the connection I feel to Scotland will be forever deep,” he said in 2022. It was also at Balmoral that Queen Elizabeth II died on 8 September 2022.

Going to Scotland, however, will depend on the health of the Princess of Wales. “As Catherine herself has said, cancer treatment brings great uncertainty and this must extend to her ability to spend part of her summer holidays at Balmoral (…). He will want to bring back the summer months as fun and carefree as possible. for the children after everything he went through,” the reporter adds.
